Dr Zaza Ndhlovu

Dr Zaza Ndhlovu is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard, Faculty member at Africa health Research Institute, adjunct faculty at University of KwaZulu Natal and HHMI International Research Scholar. He received his PhD in Immunology from Johns Hopkins University and did his Post-doctoral training at Harvard University. Dr Ndhlovu uses excisional lymph node samples from acute and chronic HIV infected patients to interrogate how brief exposure to the HIV impact induction and durability of protective immune responses. If successful, these studies will identify a phenotypic target for HIV vaccines and his cohorts of very early treated individuals will be very useful for future interventional studies aimed at a functional or sterilizing cure of HIV infection.
